Overview

The direction of the LoM project has been divided into several phases. In order to allow us ample time to properly develop each part of the system, we've opted to write a full featured offline Role Playing Game which will then be converted into an online RPG.

This offline story will take you through and introduce you to the gameworld. You will learn the stories of the three main characters: Derek, Anna and Alex. You will learn of the hardships and struggles of the world that they face. Get ready for an adventure!

The Beginning...

Warren was a powerful master 'mage' (despite not having a magic system in the game they could still be called Mage's or even Sage's or something entirely different). He and Lucien had been friends since they were very young. They were practically inseperable.

At some point in time, Warren became engaged to Cheryl (are we keeping that name?). At this same time, Lucien discovered a new elemental energy that was unknown to the world. After figuring out what Lucien had discovered, Warren threatened to expose him and forced him to leave the continent permanently (after an ultimatum to either stop or leave). Lucien decided to leave.

He ended up on another continent with his pet Dragon where we continued to experiment with this new elemental energy.

Warren, seeking to repair his relationship with Lucien, went to find him. Eventually he found Lucien atop Mt. Numitak continuing with his experimentation. Upon questioning, Lucien became angry and attempted to use the new energy. Something went wrong this time and, while Lucien was riding his Dragon, a terrible accident occured which merged the two together.

And thus Mazzeroth was created.

It wasn't long before news of Lucien's demise came back to Kalder. People didn't think much of it and so wrote Lucien off as a lost cause and forgot about him.

More needs to be developed with the story but suffice it to say that Mazzeroth began to create havoc all over the world and sought to destroy all other elemental masters. Knowing this, Warren went to stop this forever. In the process, Warren sacraficed himself to seal Mazzeroth atop Mt. Numitak where he remains today.

Where we are today...

Derrik, Alex and Anna are the three main heroes of the story. We will be following them throughout their adventures. Derrik and Alex are decendants of Warren and so have a strong inherent ability to manipulate elemental energies.

Derrik and Alex have an older brother, Leon, that they know nothing about.

The seal on Mazzeroth's prison is beginning to weaken. Enough that he's able to have a minor influence on his immediate surroundings. Leon, being a blood decendant of Warren and able to break the seal, was corrupted by Mazzeroth's influence (well, actually he had darkness within him before Mazzeroth was involved but Mazzie's influence brought out the worst in Leon).

Leon is responsible for the destruction of Kalder and personally tortured and murdered his parents which he later accounts in detail to Derrik and Alex.

At some point, Alex is kidnapped by Leon. Derrik and Anna believe Alex to be dead. We don't see Alex again until closer to the end of the story. He isn't himself, however, and is quiet and withdrawn. We will probably not expore this in the offline game and later reveal that he was mercilessly tortured by Leon for weeks causing him to fall victim to his own darkness. He'll probably be one of the main antagonists in the Online game.

Dogo is the Earth Elemental Dragon located on Kalder. He is the first dragon that the trio meet and where they learn their first true elemental abilities. Up until this point they only know that they are able to manipulate the elements but are unable to do so until Dogo teaches them).

Their adventures will take them to meet the Water Dragon, Agaz followed by the Fire Dragon Rekka and finally the Air Dragon Jinu.

They will come to face Mazzeroth in an attempt to permanently reseal him and end up running into Leon.
