Heroes
Alex is Derrik's older brother. Together they learn the lost art of Elemental Focus and defeat the dragon Mazzeroth.
Derrik lives peacefully Kalder with his brother Alex, his mother, father and grandfather. He is friends with a local girl, Anna and often ends up in little tiffs and arguments with her. They both secertly have a crush on each other but neither would ever admit it.
Anna is Derrik's best friend (although he would never admit it). She has a naivity and innocence about her that often leads people to believe that she is a flake without much cognitive thought. This, however, is incorrect as she has a brilliant mind and is very skilled with a Bow & Arrows.
Danko tall, muscular, long red hair and bright green eyes. He was found by the Heroes early in their journey. It was discovered that he is a Whisperer, one who is able to communicate with many animals and call for their assistance. Danko is currently living near Kalder in a small cottage in the woods. He prefers the company of animals over humans so he is not easy to track down.
Others
Warren is the person who sealed Mazzeroth into the cave atop Mt. Numitak. He was killed in the process but left behind a bloodline that continues to survive in Derrik and Alex.
Leon is a mysterious and dark young man.
Monolithic Dragons
Mazzeroth is the ultimate villain in LoM's universe — a huge Black Dragon intent on exacting his wrath upon the world. He resides atop Mt. Numitak, sealed there by Warren hundreds of years ago.
